NAEJ (also NAJ and NAÄJ) Opened in three stages between 1895 and 1910, closed 1945, length 49 km.

The NAEJ formed the connection between the agricultural district of the Nättraby river valley and Blekinge Kustbanor, BKB, (gauge 3'6") and also the harbour in Nättraby, in Blekinge province on the southern Baltic coast. In the early 1920s this railway was still paying dividends to its stockholders but in 1939 all public traffic was discontinued except ballast transports to the harbour from a gravel-pit halfway up the line. This was the longest of our "historical" lines.

One of its few large freight shippers was the nail factory at Alnaryd, and NAEJ was the only 600 mm line that had a number of special, high-sided open wagons for charcoal. This line ran through areas rich in lingonberries (a variety of cranberries), and during late summer every available passenger vehicle was pressed into service to accommodate the Saturday and Sunday crowds of berry-pickers form the nearby city of Karlskrona. One of its smaller steam engines was converted into a motor loco to speed up the passenger service at moderate cost, but buses and lorries slowly killed also the NAEJ…

NAEJ stock in operation on the Ö.Sl.J today includes a large number of freight wagons, two coaches and 16-ton steam locomotive no. 4 K M NELSSON built in 1914 and one of the very few superheated engines on this gauge in Sweden.
