Castles & Steam
Our popular round-trip means that you combine a visit at the railway with a trip on the steamboat S/S Mariefred. You’ll also have time to explore Mariefred and Gripsholm castle. There’s also time to enjoy the lush scenery and the famous cake buffet at Taxinge castle. Buy your ticket at our ticket office; then plan your day exactly as you wish.
Starting by train from Mariefred to Taxinge and then returning by steamboat is very popular! There is a risk of overcrowding during high season.
Castles & Steam is only possible to accomplish on days where we run trains along the whole route to Taxinge-Näsby and S/S Mariefred is running.
